Woman sustained rib fractures after falling into the pit in Lanzhou yesterday. The pavement opened up all of sudden in front of a bus stop on a busy street. The sinkhole has been cordoned off as local authorities carry out investigation. Woman walking on a busy street in China yesterday was swallowed by a sinkhole after the pavement under her feet suddenly gave way. The unidentified v/ictim was left with two f/ractures on her ribs after falling into the three-metre-deep (9.8-foot-deep) pit. The cause of the sinkhole is being investigated.
