A kind-hearted Cape Town woman went the extra mile to help a homeless man find a job. Toni Venter would see Thomas, a homeless man sitting in the same spot on the route to her home, day in and day out. One day, curiosity got the best of Toni and she decided to stop and talk to the man.

A simple conversation changed Thomas’s life as his story moved Toni and made her want to help him change his life. After hearing his heartbreaking story, Toni took pity on him and decided to help him out. Thomas shared how he was living on the street after he experienced a tremendous t*ragedy which left him s*truggling to put back the pieces of his life. His once loving and peaceful life took a t*ragic turn when his family was k*illed during an a*rmed r*obbery.

Not knowing how to recover from his loss, Thomas eventually ended up homeless and living on the streets. That is, until he met Toni, Briefly.co.za found. Feeling sorry for the man, Toni contacted a friend, Peter Greenwall, for help. Peter ensured Thomas got a haircut, clean shave and a shower and helped him regain his dignity.

Toni then posted an ad on social media looking for a job for Thomas. Because Thomas had experience working in the security industry, they soon found him a job with Talon Security Services who had come across Toni's ad. Thomas appeared for his interview looking bright-eyed and bushy tailed and was eager to turn his life around, and easily got offered a job.
