Gabriel Opare has developed a new video search engine called Mudclo

Gabriel Opare, a 19 year old from Ghana has developed an impressive search engine.

More and more talent continues to emerge on the African continent as a 19 year old from the University of Ghana has developed a new video search engine that could rival Google and YouTube.

The student has developed Mudclo.com (www.Mudclo.com), a website that has been described as almost matching Google's YouTube. The metasearch engine allows users to discover, search and stream video content from multiple sources in one place. Surprisingly, Gabriel Opare is working towards his Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology. But his intense love for technology, web and graphic design has culminated in the development of Mudclo.

Gabriel believes Mudclo has the capability to challenge YouTube and to become a global thing. Gabriel had this to say, "Mudclo will challenge the dominance of YouTube. I believe that my business is good enough and that it can scale globally. It is a legitimate point to say that YouTube is a video hosting website, but they are two different entities. While YouTube is a video hosting website, mine combines the power of YouTube and two other video hosting websites in order to create Mudclo."

Despite some of the negativity enshrouding Africa, the young talents continue to scale great heights and with this remarkable rate of technological advancements, Africa is certainly becoming a force to reckon with.

With Opare's invention, hopefully many Africans can be inspired to venture into creating new products that tackle our various problems and that give Africa an identity that is very superior.
