Ciara, Erica Mena, Joie Chavis and Kiyomi Leslie are just some of the women that Bow Wow has dated or been engaged to. But he’s never taken that one final step over the broom.
That’s something he addressed in an Instagram message that surfaced on Wednesday, and the former child rapper admitted that his decision to be single has to do with fear.
“I have some maturing to do,” he wrote. “What am I afraid of? I’m 32 but afraid to tackle on adult like things like marriage a family. It’s hard. To be honest I’m scared. I think about these things. Is it because I’ve seen a lot or am I really nervous about taking on the grown man role and simply acting my age and growing the f— up.”
Leslie was the last woman Bow Wow was serious with, but the former couple split after they had an altercation in early February, which got them both arrested.
According to Leslie, the reality star struck her in the head and dragged her into a bedroom by the hair.
But Bow Wow said he was the one assaulted, and he was seen with deep scratches on his face and forehead after the incident.
Bow Wow addressed the incident in the new trailer of “Growing Up Hip Hop: Atlanta,” where Leslie can be heard calling 911. The We TV reality series will begin its third season on June 13.
“I’ve been physically assaulted by my boyfriend and I would like to make a report,” said Leslie in the trailer.
Later in the clip, Bow Wow showed his mother a purple bruise on his torso, and she asked him if she could pick his next girlfriend. “You know who my favorite is,” his mom said.
Angela Simmons, whom Bow Wow also used to date, appears on the screen after that and they talk about marriage and babies.
“Let’s just get married and have a kid. F–k it,” Bow Wow suggested.
Meanwhile, underneath his admission about being fearful of marriage, people gave him all kinds of advice.
“Do YOU! You don’t have to conform to social expectations,” one person wrote.
“Hope everyone knows you don’t need to do any of that stuff until you’re ready,” a second person stated. “Lol what’s wrong with people.”
