After an old video of Jeannie Mai surfaced in which she explained that she liked “dark meat on the side” and Tamar Braxton more or less scolded her, she has drawn a lot of criticism from fans of rapper and activist Jeezy.

She said at the time: “Love black guys. For me, dark meat on the side, white keeps me mean and lean. That’s why I married white. That’s what I like.”

Tamar responded by: “Wait, what are you reading it as? “How did you say it? You like your main man to be White and your side piece to be Black …”

The co-host of The Real has been accused of going over the top with her statements and being inappropriate towards black men.

On the other hand, some have also pointed out that Jeezy and Jeannie have had a very peculiar relationship in general, and it does not make sense to criticize them over this in particular.

That has not stopped a number of their fans from discussing their relationship at length though, and it looks like it is quite the hot topic on social media right now.

Some have even brought up the previous marriage between Jeannie and Freddy Harteis as extra ammunition in the argument.

Although others have shut those statements down, pointing out that it is quite inappropriate even to make references to that situation in the context of what was said by Jeannie.

In any case, it looks like the TV host is going to face some problematic comments for some time soon, and she is going to be subjected to a lot of scrutiny by fans and foes.

Whether she will even respond to those statements is hard to tell at this point, although it would not be out of the question for Jeezy to also step in and say something to address the situation in his way.

One person had this reaction: “Society has turned the black man and black women away from each other. Black men don’t value the black women as he should, and most of the black women don’t respect themselves enough to give black men any reason to be with them. Everyone is money-driven and selfish. Pride is an issue for the black man as well as black women. The black women are the most important being on this earth period, but everybody is lost.”

Another follower claimed: “We are the most bitter people walking the face of the earth. The proof is in the comments. 🤦🏽‍♀️”

This social media user wrote: “Why would anyone be upset at the fact that he is dating a non-black woman? It’s not like he has never dated black women. It’s not like he doesn’t have black kids with black women or like he talks down on black women.

Let this man live his life.”

A fourth fan revealed: “Black women stop saying we ain’t good enough!!! Some black men do prefer us, black queens!! Black men that date other races usually can’t handle how powerful a black queen is 🤷🏾‍♀️🤷🏾‍♀️🤷🏾‍♀️ soo go be great and find someone who loves you!”

Did she cross a line?
