Have you purchased your tickets to see Jordan’s Peele’s latest film ‘Us’ yet? According to Fandango, advance ticket sales are putting the film on pace to bring in between $45M - $50 million going into the weekend.

Unlike ‘Get Out’, which garnered debate over whether it was a horror film or comedy, according to Peele, ‘Us’ is a bonafide horror movie.

Stephen King cosigned with, “this is a scary movie. Be warned.”

The film, which stars Lupita Nyong’o and Winston Duke, is about a mother and father who take their kids to their beach home to unplug, but instead of unwinding, their trip takes an unexpected turn when uninvited visitors (read doppelgängers) show up.

The movie debuted at SXSW where the lucky attendees were sworn to secrecy. From what we can gather, while it is scary, true to Peele, it is also inundated with humor and warrants more than one viewing.

With a budget of just 20 million, the film’s projected success will once again prove that empowering Black people behind and in front of the lens isn’t just right, it’s also good for business.

Advance tickets are on sale online with showings beginning as early as this Thursday.
