A University of Johannesburg student was a*llegedly ch*oked by b*ouncers after he was denied access in to his graduation ceremony. Video footage of the i*ncident has e*merged.
In the footage, Phasoane Mphahlele is seen being ph*ysically a*ssaulted by a man and f*alls to the floor.
The student took to Twitter to confirm the events by posting: "We remain stronger. I just came out of h*ospital at Garden City because @tmarwala unleashed b*ouncers on me on my graduation day. They p*ulled off my fresh operation merely to say I insulted them on Facebook. @Julius_S_Malema it will never stop without your intervention".
Mzansi social media users were left in confusion about why the situation e*scalated to the point of a ph*ysical c*onfrontation. Michael Chivas said: "Why was the student denied access.... Why was the student s*trungled in the first place? I mean how and why!!"
While 'Q-Tee' Phosa called on Minister of Higher Education, Naledi Pandor, to speak out on the i*ncident. "Yeah! @NalediPandor should respond to this. We can’t have student being t*reated as if they are t*errorists. @NalediPandor you cannot be quiet".
