During Her Appearance On 'The Late Late Show With James Corden', The 'Breaking In' Actress Also Recalls The Time When Her Husband Got Excited After Going To A Car Wash And Target For The First Time.

Dwyane Wade might be an excellent basketball player on the court, but he's apparently clueless when it comes to everyday life. His wife Gabrielle Union couldn't help but poke fun at it during her recent appearance on "The Late Late Show with James Corden".

Revealing that her athlete husband hadn't seamlessly adjusted to his retired life, Gabrielle said, "He has no idea what's happening. When he got into NBA, he didn't have any money. He was pretty close to poverty. And now he's retired -- he does OK for himself -- but he's like 'What is this place? There's all kinds of khaki shorts! And cargo shorts. And there's all different colors! I'm like, 'That's Old Navy.' "

Sharing more fun stories about Dwyane's retired life, the actress recalled the time when he got excited after going to a car wash and Target for the first time and revealed that he actually didn't know how much milk costs. "He has no idea how much milk costs," Gabriella said. "He's like, 'What is that? About $20?' I'm like, 'What kind of goat's blood milk are you [drinking]? No. What.' "

"It's like he's just come out of a coma!" host James Corden exclaimed in response, to which she agreed by comparing him to Rip Van Winkle,

a fictional character who falls asleep for 20 years. "...He has no idea. It's hilarious," the "Breaking In" star said.

Dwayne announced his retirement in September 2018, re-signing with Miami Heat for one final season. He played his last home game in Miami on April 9, scoring 30 points in the Heat's 122-99 win against the Philadelphia 76ers. In his final game on the following night, the athlete recorded his fifth career triple-double with 25 points, 11 rebounds and 100 assists in a 113-94 loss to the Brooklyn Nets.
