8-year-old Cameron Scott is one tough little boy. He is being hailed a real-life hero after beating stage 4 brain c*ancer with the help of the amazing people at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
After falling down the stairs, Cameron was left with back pain. So his parents, Tamika and Wendell Scott took him to the hospital for an MRI. As it turned out, their little boy who loved super heroes, especially batman, would need superhero strength for what awaited him.
An MRI revealed Cameron Scott had a brain tumor called medulloblastoma.
“They initially showed us the back and his spine, and the doctor looking at the pictures turned to the other doctors and said, ‘I need another MRI. I need you to scan upward.”’ Tamika told Today.
A second MRI revealed Cameron Scott had a brain tumor called medulloblastoma. The high-risk, stage 4 c*ancer had spread to his spine.
Cameron’s dad, Wendell, said he had to act brave. “I’m dad, and I have to be strong for everybody. I just felt we’re gonna fight.” He said.
The young boy underwent a 4-hour long surgery to remove the tumors before being sent to St. Jude’s for follow-up treatment.
Cameron had to endure six months of chemotherapy and radiation
While at St. Jude’s, the hospital’s pioneered gene sequencing of Cameron’s c*ancer allowed them to begin a targeted and thus more effective treatment. The doctors also discovered that Cameron had not 1 disease, but 4 different types.
Cameron had to endure six months of chemotherapy and radiation, but he stayed brave and through every step of the way. The whole process, from beginning to end, was covered financially by St. Jude.

Remarkably, Cameron Scott was able to b*eat the rare, stage 4, high-risk brain c*ancer at his tender age.
Cameron and his family, which includes five older siblings, enjoyed a trip to Legoland Florida Resort over the Thanksgiving weekend in 2017. “I feel amazing now,” Cameron said. “I feel like I’ve been through everything.”
