- A South African pilot in Botswana stole an aircraft and c*rashed it in an apparent apparent attempt to k*ill his wife- The pilot, Charl Viljoen, was the only one k*illed in the c*rash- The i*ncident took place after an a*ltercation between Viljoen and his wife at a function held at a social club.


The pilot, who committed s*uicide by c*rashing his plane in Botswana, has been identified as South African, Charl Viljoen. Reportedly, Viljoen c*rashed the plane in attempt to k*ill his wife. Bystanders say Viljoen stole the aircraft after getting into an a*ltercation with his wife at a function held at the airstrip.

Viljoen, an employee of Botswana-based Kalahari Air Services, was allegedly drunk at the party and was told to leave. Viljoen then c*rashed the plane into the function venue in what appears to have been an a*ttempted h*omicide as well a s*uicide. Viljoen was the only person who d*ied in the c*rash, although significant damage was done to the function venue, as well as the control tower and several vehicles. The c*rash resulted in a f*ire, which was quickly brought under control by e*mergency services, according to The Citizen. The i*ncident took place at an airstrip in the Rasesa area of Gaborone.

P*olice in Botswana have said they are looking into to the matter further. Viljoen is said to have originally come from the Northern Cape. He and his wife had been living and working in Botswana for 10 years, according to reports. Watch videos below.
