Rapper 50 Cent sold his ginormous Farmington, Connecticut mansion for the reduced price of $2.9 million – nearly $16 million less than his original asking price when the property was first listed in 2007, according to the Wall Street Journal.

50, whose real name is Curtis James Jackson III, bought the 51,657 square foot home from ex-Heavyweight boxing champion, Mike Tyson, in 2003. He purchased the house for $4.1 million, but spent millions more in costly renovations, according to the Wall Street Journal.

When he first put the house up for sale, 50 hoped to attract a buyer who would plunk down $18.7 million. When no one bought at that price, the rapper removed the listing. Over the years, the property was listed and removed from real estate sites. More recently, 50 Cent had listed the house for $4.95 million, according to the newspaper.

Even though it failed to get the asking price, in Farmington, the mansion sold for more than any other house in town.

The mansion features 21 bedrooms and 35 bathrooms, and also a movie theater, indoor pool, gym, basketball court, and a room made to look like a strip club with a stage and stripper poles, according to the Zillow listing. New York City real estate agent, Fredrick Eklund, tried to sell the mansion in a 2018 episode of Million Dollar Listing on Bravo to no avail. Jackson told Eklund that he would pull the listing and use the mansion to house his G-Unity Foundation.

“It would be interesting to have programs where we could escape the cities and kids from the inner cities to go out and just be creative, to kind of hone in, you know, on the arts and stuff like that,” 50 said in the Bravo episode.

“They’ll be able to use the recording studio and the fitness areas, the pools, everything. It’ll be a cool summer camp house.”

But now that’s a distant memory. The mansion has finally been sold.
