Ariden Jackson, 37, has been ch*arged with c*riminal h*omicide of his teenage daughter, years after being c*onvicted for a*ssa*ulting her when she was an infant.
Jackson’s daughter Janiya, d*ied nearly 14 years after he admitted to shaking her as a baby when she wouldn’t stop c*rying.
When the original c*rime took place in 2005 with Jackson had originally told officials that he a*ccidentally dropped the child. It was later revealed that he had shaken his daughter three times. According to KDKA-Pittsburgh, c*ourt documents reveal Jackson p*leaded g*uilty to a*ggravated a*ssault and child r*eckless e*ndangerment, which l*anded him in j*ail for 10 years.
Janiya reached the age of 13 before she d*ied as a result of those i*njuries. She had been residing in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania for the past several years while s*uffering from b*rain d*amage, developmental delays and a s*eizure d*isorder stemming from the original a*ssault when she was four weeks old.
Janiya was found unr*esponsive this past February at the home of a family friend where she had been residing for the last several years. She was pronounced d*ead after being transported to the h*ospital.
The m*edical e*xaminer determined she d*ied as a result of “c*omplications of a s*eizure d*isorder resulting from remote a*busive h*ead t*rauma.” The report from the Beaver Country M*edical E*xaminer’s office ruled the d*eath as a h*omicide.
Jackson’s last known residence was in Edgewood, Pennsylvania where he was seen p*icking up t*rash outside of his apartment by neighbors this past Monday.
There is currently a w*arrant for his a*rrest and he is being searched for by Allegheny County D*etectives. Jackson is believed to be traveling without a car.
