Russell Wilson Gifts Teammates $12K In Amazon Stock After Becoming Highest-Paid Player
Since signing a 4-year, $140 million contract and becoming the NFL’s highest-paid player last week, Seattle Seahawk Russell Wilson is showing off his gratitude to his teammates who protect him on the field in the form of $12,000 worth of stock in Amazon.
While spending a whopping $156,000 on his 13 offensive linemen, Wilson accompanied the news with a letter to each of his men, stating, “Every Sunday we go to battle together. You sacrifice your physical and mental well-being to protect me; which in turn allows me to provide and care for my family. This does not go unnoticed and it is never forgotten. Now it is my turn to return the favor, I would not be where I am today without you working to be great day in and day out.”
In addition, he writes, “When I sat down to think of ways to honor your dedication a dozen different ideas came to mind. Some were flashy, some were cool, but I wanted to give you something that had a lasting impact. Something that would affect the lives of you, your family, and your children. You have invested in my life … this is my investment into yours.”
