Terry Wayne King has been sentenced to life in prison for the brutal attack on 12-year-old, Dorika Uwimana last year.
The young victim was beaten so badly by King she needed 3 surgeries, including a heart transplant, to save her life.
Dorika, who speaks limited English, managed to escape King and was able to get to a bus where she reported the attack to a school bus driver.
The bus driver called police and Dorika was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
King was found guilty of assault causing bodily injury to a child and attempted aggravated kidnapping on Tuesday.
Dorika, who was 12-years-old at the time of the 2018 attack, appeared in court Monday where she came face-to-face with King and said he was a “bad man.”
Police said the vicious attack near the school bus stop was unprovoked and the motive was unknown.
