While on vacation in Nashville, Tennessee, NYPD cop Michael J. Reynolds kicked open the door of a house and terrorized the Black family inside.
The incident, which was caught on surveillance camera, happened around 2:30 a.m. on July 9, 2018. The police officer had been out drinking that night and confused the home of Conese Halliburton with the Airbnb he was staying at nearby.
Reynolds kicked open the door of the house, forced his way inside and shouted, “This is my motherf*cking house!”
Conese Halliburton was at home with her four sons, ages 20, 17, 11 and 8. Her older sons demanded Reynolds leave their home while she called 911.
The neighbor’s surveillance camera captured Reynolds saying, “Try to shoot me, and I’ll break every f*cking bone in your f*cking neck,” and calling them “f*cking n*ggers.”
Upon arriving, Nashville cops did not arrest Reynolds that night and news of the incident was not reported until more than a month after the incident. At that time police said they were “still investigating” the incident.
The NYPD said the cop was suspended without pay “for a time” but he was then placed on “modified duty,” meaning he was receiving a paycheck.
Reynolds pleaded no contest to three counts of assault. He will be sentenced in November.
